Grape Crumble Bars
Ingredients
3/4 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 1/2 cups un-sifted all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups ready-to-eat all natural cereal or granola (with raisins and dates)
1 jar (10 ounces) Welch’s Grape Jelly
Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 400° F.
2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add flour, salt and baking soda; mix well. Stir in the cereal. Press half of the dough into a well-greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Set aside.
3. In a small bowl, break up the jelly into small pieces using a fork. Spread jelly over the dough in the pan to within an 1/8 inch of the edge of the pan. With fingers, crumble the remaining dough over the top.
4. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until brown. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
